Mold in Naples rarely shows up at a convenient time. It might be a musty smell when you open up a seasonal condo in November, dark spots behind a vanity after a slow leak, or swollen baseboards in a home that took water during a storm. Whatever you’re seeing, the first step is the same: find the moisture source and get a clear, written plan from someone licensed to do the work in Florida.
Fill out the short form above (or our free quote page) with where you see mold, roughly how large the area is, and whether it’s a house or a condo. We’ll follow up and help you get quotes so you can compare scopes and prices side by side. See how getting quotes works or check typical prices in our mold remediation cost guide.

NOAA’s 1991–2020 normals for Naples Municipal Airport show 49.55 inches of rain a year, and June through September brings 32.67 inches of it, about 66% of the total. Our own calculation from NOAA hourly observations (2015–2024) found the dew point at or above 70°F in roughly 93% to 99% of hours from June to September. Air that moist keeps drywall, closets and AC systems damp unless the air conditioning keeps up.
During Ian on September 28, 2022, the Naples Pier gauge reached 6.18 ft above MHHW before the station was destroyed, and the National Hurricane Center reported maximum inundation of 6 to 9 ft above ground in Naples and 8 to 12 ft in North Naples. NWS Miami put Collier County damage at $2.2 billion, including $989 million in the City of Naples. Irma made landfall on Marco Island in 2017 and left over 90% of customers without power for more than a week. Wet walls and weeks without AC are when mold takes hold. See hurricane and storm-surge mold.
Census data (ACS 2024 5-year, table B25004) shows about 40.8% of all housing units in the City of Naples and 49.2% on Marco Island are vacant for seasonal, recreational or occasional use. County-wide that is 59,512 units. A closed-up home with the AC set too high can grow mold through a humid summer with nobody there to notice. See seasonal and second-home mold.
About 59.9% of housing units in the City of Naples are in buildings with five or more units, and Pelican Bay is at 70.4% (ACS 2024 5-year). In multi-unit buildings, a leak in one unit can reach the next, and repairs often involve the association. Collier County says all multi-family buildings need a permit for any work performed after a storm. See condo and HOA mold.
Two rules shape every mold job in Naples. Knowing them helps you hire the right people.

Florida Statutes s. 468.8411 defines mold assessment and mold remediation as work involving mold growth of more than 10 square feet, and Florida requires a state license to perform or offer to perform that work. EPA’s mold guide says that if the moldy area is less than about 10 square feet, homeowners can usually handle the job themselves. According to the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR), only individuals are licensed, not businesses.
Under s. 468.8419, a mold assessor may not perform or offer remediation on a structure it assessed within the last 12 months, and the remediator rule mirrors it. So the company that assesses your home and the company that remediates it are typically separate companies. The statute exempts Division I certified contractors.
Before you hire: ask any company for its Florida license number and verify it at MyFloridaLicense.com. This is general information, not legal advice.

Cost guides list typical national ranges of $1,200 to $3,750 for a typical job, with This Old House averaging about $2,300 and Fixr about $3,500. Per square foot, expect roughly $10 to $30. These are estimates, not quotes. Your actual price comes from a licensed pro's on-site assessment of your home.
It depends on where the water came from, your declaration and the insurance split in Florida Statutes s. 718.111(11). Under s. 718.113(1), maintaining common elements is the association's job, while s. 718.111(11)(f) leaves items such as wall and floor coverings to the unit owner. This is not legal advice; ask your association's attorney.
